This set of markets tracks the performance of the USD to INR exchange rate at a specific future date and time. Each market has a different threshold value, and the outcome depends on whether the exchange rate exceeds that threshold at the specified moment.
All markets resolve based on the USDINR exchange rate's opening candlestick value at 5pm ET on October 16, 2026, as published by Pyth. For each market, if the rate is above the specified threshold at that exact time, the market resolves to 'Yes'; otherwise, it resolves to 'No'. The resolution uses the most recent available data if Pyth does not publish a value at the exact time, and any revisions to the underlying data after the expiration time are disregarded. All rates are rounded to four decimal places for resolution purposes.
Comparing prediction market odds to analyst forecasts reveals how collective intelligence stacks up against expert opinion. While analysts may provide specific point estimates for the USDINR exchange rate, this market represents a probability distribution of potential outcomes. If analysts broadly predict the USDINR to remain stable, we might see higher probabilities assigned to outcomes near the current exchange rate. Conversely, if analysts anticipate significant volatility, the probabilities will be more dispersed. It's important to note that prediction markets often incorporate a wider range of information and perspectives than traditional forecasts.
This market resolves around Oct 16, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the USDINR exchange rate at 5:00 PM EDT on October 16th is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official exchange rate reported by a recognized financial data provider. Traders will then be paid out based on whether their chosen outcome aligns with the final exchange rate. The market’s outcome is determined by the prevailing rate at the specified time, offering a clear and objective resolution process.
Several signals and events could significantly move this market before Oct 16, 2026. Major economic data releases from the United States or India, such as inflation reports, GDP figures, or employment numbers, could influence the USDINR exchange rate. Unexpected geopolitical events, shifts in global risk sentiment, or changes in monetary policy by the Federal Reserve or the Reserve Bank of India are also potential catalysts. Furthermore, significant fluctuations in crude oil prices, which India heavily imports, could also impact the exchange rate and, consequently, this market.
