This set of markets tracks the performance of the USDCHF currency pair at a specific future date and time. Each market has a different threshold value, and the outcome depends on whether the exchange rate exceeds that threshold at the specified moment.
All markets resolve based on the opening candlestick value of the USDCHF exchange rate published by Pyth at 5:00 PM ET on October 16, 2026. For each market, if the rate is above the specified threshold at that exact time, the market resolves to 'Yes'; otherwise, it resolves to 'No'. The resolution uses the most recent available data from Pyth if no value is published at the exact time, and revisions to the underlying data after the expiration time are disregarded. All rates are rounded to four decimal places for resolution purposes.
Currently, it's important to note that analyst forecasts for the USDCHF exchange rate vary considerably. Some anticipate a strengthening Swiss Franc due to safe-haven demand, while others predict a stable or slightly weakening Franc. This market offers a different perspective, representing the collective wisdom of traders actively putting their capital at risk. Comparing this market’s implied probability to the range of analyst expectations can reveal whether the crowd is more bullish or bearish than conventional financial experts on the USDCHF exchange rate.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction, meaning traders can buy and sell contracts at any time, establishing the current price. The price reflects the probability of the USDCHF exchange rate being above 0.825 at the specified time. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the price will adjust to reflect the evolving consensus. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows for a real-time assessment of market expectations.
This market resolves around Oct 16, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the USDCHF exchange rate at 5:00 PM EDT on October 16th is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final price reported by a reputable financial data provider will determine whether the market settles in the affirmative (above 0.825) or the negative (at or below 0.825). Traders holding contracts on the winning side will receive a payout, while those on the losing side will forfeit their stake.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Major economic data releases from the United States or Switzerland, such as inflation reports, GDP figures, or employment numbers, could impact the USDCHF exchange rate. Geopolitical events, shifts in global risk sentiment, and interventions by central banks are also potential catalysts. Unexpected news regarding trade relations, political stability, or monetary policy could all contribute to price movements in this market. Monitoring these events will be crucial for understanding potential shifts in trader sentiment.
