This market will resolve to “Yes” if Donald Trump announces his pick to be AI czar by the listed date, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. An announcement from Donald Trump or the Trump administration stating their intent to appoint a specific individual as AI czar will suffice to resolve this market, regardless of whether a formal appointment actually occurs. Qualifying announcements must explicitly present the relevant individual as the AI czar or future AI czar. Announcements of acting or interim appointments, or announcements which merely reveal potential candidates, will not qualify. Media reports, speculation, or other unofficial information will not qualify. An announcement will qualify regardless of the name used to refer to AI, including "super intelligence" (SI). However, the person must be announced as the "czar" or a derivative thereof. The resolution source for this market will be official information from Donald Trump and the Trump Administration; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Currently, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than traditional polling data on the likelihood of an AI czar appointment. While polls often capture stated preferences, this market reflects what individuals are willing to *risk* financially on the outcome. This difference can be significant, especially in situations where respondents may be hesitant to express controversial opinions or where strategic considerations influence responses. The market’s implicit forecast is constantly updated based on new information and trader activity, offering a dynamic view compared to the static snapshot of a poll.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous exchange mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of the event occurring. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of the outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders believe the event is likely, the price of shares increases, and vice versa. This creates a dynamic pricing system that reflects the collective intelligence of the market participants. The current price reflects the aggregated bets of all traders on Polymarket.
This market resolves around Oct 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, this market will resolve positively if former President Trump publicly names an individual to a position officially designated as an “AI Czar” or equivalent role with similar responsibilities. The resolution will be based on official announcements and reporting from reputable news sources. The determination will focus on the official title and scope of responsibilities assigned to the appointed individual.
Several signals could significantly impact this market. Any public statements from former President Trump regarding his plans for AI policy or potential appointments would likely cause a shift in the odds. News reports detailing discussions about an AI czar position, or the potential candidates being considered, could also move the market. Furthermore, major developments in the field of AI regulation or policy, such as new legislation or executive orders, could influence trader sentiment and affect the price of shares in this market.
