Opinion
This market will resolve to "Yes" if the official "Close" price for Tesla (TSLA) on the trading day specified in the title is strictly higher than the price specified in the title. A "Close" exactly equal to the specified price resolves to "No". If the market is not open on the specified day (exchange holiday or unscheduled closure), or Tesla (TSLA) does not trade at all during that day's regular session, this market resolves 50-50 — each side is paid at half value; this is not a refund. In the event of a stock split, reverse stock split, or similar corporate action affecting Tesla (TSLA), this market resolves on split-adjusted prices, and the price specified in the title is adjusted proportionally. The resolution source for this market is Yahoo Finance, specifically the Tesla (TSLA) "Close" prices available at https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/TSLA/ under "Historical Prices". If that data is unavailable due to an outage or other technical disruption, the official price published by the primary exchange on which Tesla (TSLA) trades governs.

Comparing the odds in this market to traditional analyst forecasts reveals how collective prediction differs from expert opinion. While analysts often provide price targets based on financial modeling, this market reflects the wisdom of the crowd, incorporating a broader range of information and perspectives. If analysts are largely bullish on TSLA, we might see higher probabilities reflected in this market, and vice versa. Discrepancies can highlight areas where the market perceives risks or opportunities not fully captured by conventional analysis.
On Opinion, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about the outcome. The price of these contracts directly reflects the probability of the TSLA price being above the specified level on the resolution date. On Opinion, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Market participants adjust their bids and asks based on new information, leading to a dynamic price discovery process. This creates a real-time assessment of expectations, distinct from static polls or surveys.
This market resolves around Oct 12, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the closing price of TSLA stock on that date. If the closing price is above the predetermined level, the market will settle positively; otherwise, it will settle negatively. Traders holding contracts predicting a price above the level will receive a payout, while those betting against it will forfeit their stake. The final outcome is determined by objective market data.
Several factors could significantly influence this market between now and Oct 12, 2026. Major announcements from Tesla regarding new products, production numbers, or financial performance would likely cause price swings. Broader economic trends, such as interest rate changes or shifts in the automotive industry, could also play a role. Unexpected news events, like regulatory changes or supply chain disruptions, could introduce volatility. Positive or negative press coverage and shifts in investor sentiment are also key signals to watch that could move this market.
