Description

This market will resolve to "Up" if the SPY/USDT price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than the price at the beginning of that range. It will resolve to "Down" if the SPY/USDT price at the end of the time range is lower than the price at the beginning of that range. If the two prices are exactly equal, the market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is Chainlink, specifically the SPY/USDT data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/spy-usdt-markpriceindex-datalink The resolution source uses the index price (field i) from Binance's USDS-Margined Futures Mark Price Stream for All Markets (!markPrice@arr), denominated in the quote currency. This market is based solely on the price reported by the Chainlink SPY/USDT data stream, not on other sources or futures markets. If Chainlink data is unavailable or otherwise unusable for resolution, the market will resolve based on a consensus of reliable sources. 2026-10-29T19:30:00Z

Currently, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than traditional analyst forecasts. While analysts frequently publish price targets and directional recommendations, this market aggregates the wisdom of the crowd, representing a real-money view of the SPY’s likely movement. Discrepancies can arise due to differing methodologies, biases, or access to information. If analysts are overwhelmingly bullish, but this market shows a more cautious outlook, it suggests traders perceive risks not fully captured in conventional analysis. It’s a valuable comparison point for a more holistic view.

On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether the SPY will close higher or lower within the specified timeframe. The price of these contracts fluctuates based on supply and demand, directly reflecting the collective probability assigned to each outcome. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to rapidly incorporate new information and adjust expectations as the event approaches. The current price essentially represents the implied probability of the SPY moving up or down.

This market resolves around Oct 29, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the closing price of the SPY ETF between 3:30PM and 3:45PM ET on October 29th will determine whether the ‘SPY Up’ or ‘SPY Down’ outcome is declared. The resolution will be based on publicly available financial data and will reflect the actual price movement during that specific 15-minute window. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the final result.

Several factors could significantly impact this market before Oct 29, 2026. Major economic data releases scheduled before the close of trading on October 29th, such as inflation reports or GDP figures, could trigger substantial market reactions. Unexpected geopolitical events or company-specific news related to major SPY constituents could also drive price movements.
