Description

This market will resolve to "Up" if the SPY/USDT price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than the price at the beginning of that range. It will resolve to "Down" if the SPY/USDT price at the end of the time range is lower than the price at the beginning of that range. If the two prices are exactly equal, the market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is Chainlink, specifically the SPY/USDT data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/spy-usdt-markpriceindex-datalink?timeframe=1d&chart=candlestick To verify the final price, use the close price of the 5m candlestick just before the market's end time. For example, for a market running from 1:00 to 1:15 PM ET, use the close price of the 1:10 PM candlestick as the final price. The resolution source uses the index price (field i) from Binance's USDS-Margined Futures Mark Price Stream for All Markets (!markPrice@arr), denominated in the quote currency. This market is based solely on the price reported by the Chainlink SPY/USDT data stream, not on other sources or futures markets. If Chainlink data is unavailable or otherwise unusable for resolution, the market will resolve based on a consensus of reliable sources. 2026-10-28T16:15:00Z

You’ll find a price history chart showing how the probabilities have shifted over time, as well as the total volume traded in this market, currently at $393. Currently, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than traditional analyst forecasts. While analysts frequently publish price targets and directional recommendations for the SPY, this market aggregates the wisdom of the crowd, representing a real-money view of the likely outcome. It’s common to see discrepancies, as analysts may be influenced by biases or long-term investment strategies, whereas traders in this market are focused on the very short-term price movement. Comparing these perspectives can offer a more comprehensive understanding of potential market behavior.

On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about the SPY’s direction. The price of these contracts fluctuates based on supply and demand, directly reflecting the collective probability assigned to each outcome. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The closer the market gets to the resolution time, the more sensitive the price becomes to new information and trading activity. This dynamic pricing mechanism ensures the market odds are constantly updated and responsive to changing conditions.

This market resolves around Oct 28, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will be based on whether the SPY ETF closed higher or lower during the 15-minute window between 12:15 PM and 12:30 PM ET on October 28th. The final price of the SPY during that period will be the determining factor, and the market will settle accordingly, paying out to those who correctly predicted the direction.

Several factors could significantly influence this market before Oct 28, 2026. Unexpected economic data releases, such as inflation figures or jobless claims, could trigger a market reaction. Major news events, including geopolitical developments or corporate earnings announcements from large SPY constituents, could also drive price movements. Even shifts in overall market sentiment, perhaps fueled by social media trends or influential investor commentary, could impact trading activity and shift the odds in this market. Monitoring these signals is crucial for understanding potential market fluctuations.
