This market will resolve to "Up" if the SPY/USDT price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than the price at the beginning of that range. It will resolve to "Down" if the SPY/USDT price at the end of the time range is lower than the price at the beginning of that range. If the two prices are exactly equal, the market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is Chainlink, specifically the SPY/USDT data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/spy-usdt-markpriceindex-datalink?timeframe=1d&chart=candlestick To verify the final price, use the close price of the 5m candlestick just before the market's end time. For example, for a market running from 1:00 to 1:15 PM ET, use the close price of the 1:10 PM candlestick as the final price. The resolution source uses the index price (field i) from Binance's USDS-Margined Futures Mark Price Stream for All Markets (!markPrice@arr), denominated in the quote currency. This market is based solely on the price reported by the Chainlink SPY/USDT data stream, not on other sources or futures markets. If Chainlink data is unavailable or otherwise unusable for resolution, the market will resolve based on a consensus of reliable sources. 2026-10-27T18:15:00Z

Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often incorporating information and analysis from a diverse range of sources. This can lead to outcomes that differ from those of individual analysts or traditional polls. While analysts may offer specific price targets or directional predictions for the SPY, this market represents a collective assessment of probability. It’s common to see discrepancies between prediction market implied probabilities and those suggested by conventional financial forecasts, as traders weigh various factors and react to real-time information.
On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether the SPY will close higher or lower within the specified timeframe. The price of these contracts directly reflects the implied probability of each outcome. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price adjusts dynamically based on supply and demand, meaning that increased buying pressure on the “up” contract will raise its price and lower the implied probability of the SPY going down, and vice versa. This creates a real-time assessment of market expectations.
This market resolves around Oct 27, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will be based on whether the SPY ETF closed higher or lower between 2:15 PM and 2:30 PM ET on October 27th. The final price of the SPY during that time window will determine which outcome is considered correct. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings or adjust their strategies based on the verified result of this short-term directional prediction.
Several factors could significantly influence this market before it resolves. Unexpected economic data releases, such as inflation figures or unemployment numbers, could trigger market volatility and shift trader sentiment. Major news events, including geopolitical developments or corporate earnings announcements from large SPY component companies, could also play a role. Furthermore, any surprise statements from the Federal Reserve regarding monetary policy could impact investor expectations and drive price movements in the SPY. Overall market risk appetite and trading volume will also be key indicators to watch.
