This market will resolve to "Up" if the SPY/USDT price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than the price at the beginning of that range. It will resolve to "Down" if the SPY/USDT price at the end of the time range is lower than the price at the beginning of that range. If the two prices are exactly equal, the market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is Chainlink, specifically the SPY/USDT data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/spy-usdt-markpriceindex-datalink?timeframe=1d&chart=candlestick To verify the final price, use the close price of the 5m candlestick just before the market's end time. For example, for a market running from 1:00 to 1:15 PM ET, use the close price of the 1:10 PM candlestick as the final price. The resolution source uses the index price (field i) from Binance's USDS-Margined Futures Mark Price Stream for All Markets (!markPrice@arr), denominated in the quote currency. This market is based solely on the price reported by the Chainlink SPY/USDT data stream, not on other sources or futures markets. If Chainlink data is unavailable or otherwise unusable for resolution, the market will resolve based on a consensus of reliable sources. 2026-10-23T16:30:00Z

Currently, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than traditional analyst forecasts. While analysts may provide point estimates or ranges for the SPY’s movement, this market aggregates the wisdom of the crowd, representing a real-time assessment of probabilities. Discrepancies can arise due to differing methodologies, biases, or access to information. It’s common to see prediction markets incorporating information more quickly than analyst reports, especially regarding short-term events like the SPY’s direction during a specific 15-minute window. Examining these differences can offer valuable insights.
On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether the SPY will close higher or lower during the specified period. The price of these contracts fluctuates based on supply and demand, directly reflecting the collective probability assigned to each outcome. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price indicates the implied probability of the SPY closing up, with traders adjusting their positions as new information becomes available. This dynamic pricing mechanism ensures the market reflects the most up-to-date expectations.
This market resolves around Oct 23, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the SPY’s direction during the 12:30PM-12:45PM ET window is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the closing price of the SPY ETF during that timeframe will determine whether the ‘Up’ or ‘Down’ outcome is declared. The resolution will be based on publicly available financial data, ensuring transparency and accuracy. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on their predictions and the final market outcome.
Several signals or events could significantly move this market before Oct 23, 2026. Unexpected economic data releases, such as inflation figures or unemployment numbers, could influence investor sentiment and impact the SPY's trajectory. Major geopolitical events or shifts in monetary policy by the Federal Reserve are also potential catalysts. Company-specific news, particularly from large-cap companies within the S&P 500, could also play a role. Even significant trading volume or unexpected news headlines during the trading day could cause rapid shifts in the market’s probabilities.
