This market will resolve to "Up" if the SPY/USDT price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than the price at the beginning of that range. It will resolve to "Down" if the SPY/USDT price at the end of the time range is lower than the price at the beginning of that range. If the two prices are exactly equal, the market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is Chainlink, specifically the SPY/USDT data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/spy-usdt-markpriceindex-datalink?timeframe=1d&chart=candlestick To verify the final price, use the close price of the 5m candlestick just before the market's end time. For example, for a market running from 1:00 to 1:15 PM ET, use the close price of the 1:10 PM candlestick as the final price. The resolution source uses the index price (field i) from Binance's USDS-Margined Futures Mark Price Stream for All Markets (!markPrice@arr), denominated in the quote currency. This market is based solely on the price reported by the Chainlink SPY/USDT data stream, not on other sources or futures markets. If Chainlink data is unavailable or otherwise unusable for resolution, the market will resolve based on a consensus of reliable sources. 2026-10-19T17:00:00Z

Comparing prediction market odds to analyst forecasts reveals interesting insights into collective intelligence. Often, this market demonstrates an ability to synthesize information from various sources, potentially outperforming traditional polls or individual analyst predictions. While analysts may offer specific price targets or directional advice, the SPY direction market represents a weighted average of numerous opinions, reflecting a broader understanding of potential market movements. Discrepancies can arise due to differing methodologies or biases inherent in each approach.
On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the SPY's movement. The price of these contracts directly reflects the implied probability of the SPY closing higher or lower within the specified timeframe. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market efficiently incorporates new information as traders react to news and events, adjusting their positions and influencing the price. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the most up-to-date collective assessment of the SPY's potential direction.
This market resolves around Oct 19, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will be based on whether the SPY ETF closed higher or lower between 1:00 PM and 1:15 PM ET on October 19th. The final price of the SPY during that period will determine whether the 'Up' or 'Down' outcome is declared. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on their positions in this market.
Several signals or events could significantly move this market before it resolves. Unexpected economic data releases, such as inflation figures or unemployment numbers, could influence investor sentiment and impact the SPY's direction. Major geopolitical events or shifts in Federal Reserve policy are also potential catalysts. Furthermore, company-specific news related to large SPY constituents, or even broad market sentiment changes driven by social media trends, could all contribute to price fluctuations in this market. Monitoring these factors will be crucial for traders.
