Description

This market will resolve according to Space Exploration Technologies' public market capitalization at the close of regular trading on the final trading day of the specified month. If the determined value falls exactly on the boundary between two brackets, this market will resolve to the higher bracket. Public market capitalization will be determined through appropriate calculation using the final official regular-hours closing prices published for the company's listed equities on its primary exchange for the last trading day of the specified month, multiplied by the company's total number of shares outstanding at the relevant time. If necessary, to accurately capture the company’s total market capitalization, rather than a stock-class-specific market capitalization, the calculation will include all outstanding share classes and apply any stated conversion ratios to the publicly traded class. Where no conversion right exists, such shares will be counted at their stated outstanding amount without discount, unless official filings explicitly specify differently. The number of outstanding shares will be determined from official company filings or disclosures (e.g., SEC filings). If the listed company merges with or acquires another entity and remains the parent company, no change to resolution methodology applies. If the listed company is acquired, merges into another entity and is no longer the surviving parent company, or otherwise ceases to exist as an independent entity prior to the end of the period, the public market capitalizations achieved prior to completion of the transaction will be considered for resolution. No transaction, acquisition, or merger consideration will be considered for resolution. The resolution source for this market is official exchange trading data and publicly reported share counts.

Frequently asked questions

On Polymarket, the dashboard for the SpaceX market cap market tracks the current implied probability of various market capitalization ranges for SpaceX as of the end of September 2026. You can view the odds for each possible outcome, along with a price history chart showing how those odds have changed over time. The dashboard also displays the 24-hour trading volume, currently at $402, and the total volume traded to date, which is $31,191. This provides a real-time view of how traders are assessing the future value of SpaceX.

Currently, prediction market odds reflect a collective assessment of SpaceX’s potential market capitalization. It’s common to see differences between these crowdsourced predictions and those made by financial analysts. While analysts often rely on detailed financial modeling and company-specific insights, this market represents the wisdom of the crowd, incorporating a broader range of information and potential future events. It's important to note that both approaches have their strengths and weaknesses when attempting to forecast future market values.

On Polymarket, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell shares representing different market capitalization ranges for SpaceX, and the prices of these shares determine the implied probabilities. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share reflects the market's belief that SpaceX's market cap will fall within that range by the resolution date. Higher demand for shares in a particular range drives up the price, increasing its implied probability, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to quickly adapt to new information and changing sentiment.

This market resolves around Sep 30, 2026, with the outcome determined by SpaceX’s market capitalization at the close of trading on that date. The final market cap will be verified against credible public reporting from financial news sources and official company filings. The market will settle to the outcome corresponding to the market capitalization range that includes the verified value. Traders holding shares in the winning range will receive a payout based on the market’s pricing at resolution.

Several key events could significantly impact this market. Major milestones in SpaceX’s Starship development, successful commercial launches, and updates on its Starlink satellite internet service are all potential catalysts. Broader economic conditions, such as changes in interest rates or overall market sentiment towards growth stocks, could also play a role. Furthermore, any significant regulatory changes affecting the space industry or SpaceX specifically could shift the odds. Positive developments generally increase the implied probability of a higher market cap, while setbacks could lead to a decrease.
