Resolves Nov 3, 2026
Time left: 21h:47m:10s
$
This market will resolve according to the outcome of the United States Senate general elections in Ohio and Texas (including the special election in Ohio) that are currently scheduled for November 3, 2026, inclusive of any potential runoffs. A candidate will be considered to represent a party by their ballot-listed affiliation or if they are the nominee of that party. Candidates who run as independents will not be encompassed by the “Democrat” or “Republican” options regardless of any affiliation they may have with the party. If the results of one of these elections are not conclusively known by March 31, 2027, or if an independent or third-party candidate wins one of these elections, this market will resolve to "Other". For purposes of this market, a "sweep" is when a party wins all races. The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources have conclusively called the relevant elections. If all three sources do not achieve consensus in calling the relevant races for this market, it will resolve based on the official certification.

Currently, prediction market odds suggest a high probability of the outcome reflected by 68.0% for the specified combination of Senate races. This contrasts with traditional polling averages, which can sometimes show different levels of confidence in each individual race. It’s important to remember that polls capture a snapshot in time, while this market represents a continuous assessment of probabilities based on a wide range of information and perspectives. Discrepancies between polls and the market can arise from differing methodologies and the inclusion of factors beyond simple voter preference.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of the event occurring. As more traders participate, the price converges towards a consensus view. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price indicates what percentage of the total payout a share is worth, and traders aim to profit by accurately predicting the outcome and trading accordingly. The market's efficiency is driven by the incentive for traders to express their informed opinions.
This market resolves around Nov 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the winners of the Ohio and Texas Senate races are verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on official election results certified by the relevant state authorities. This ensures a transparent and objective determination of whether Republicans win the Ohio seat and Democrats win the Texas seat, as defined by the market’s conditions. Traders will then receive their payouts based on the final outcome and their positions in this market.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Major economic announcements, shifts in national political sentiment, and significant events in the individual Senate races – such as candidate debates, endorsements, or unexpected campaign developments – could all cause the odds to shift. Polling data releases will also be closely watched, though as discussed, this market doesn’t necessarily track polls directly. Any news that alters perceptions of the candidates' chances of winning in Ohio and Texas is likely to impact trading activity and, consequently, the price of shares in this market.
