Resolves Nov 3, 2026
Time left: 22h:01m:03s
$
This market will resolve according to the outcome of the United States Senate general elections in Michigan, Texas, and Ohio (including the special election in Ohio) that are currently scheduled for November 3, 2026, inclusive of any potential runoffs. A candidate will be considered to represent a party by their ballot-listed affiliation or if they are the nominee of that party. Candidates who run as independents will not be encompassed by the “Democrat” or “Republican” options regardless of any affiliation they may have with the party. If the results of one of these elections are not conclusively known by March 31, 2027, or if an independent or third-party candidate wins one of these elections, this market will resolve to "Other". For purposes of this market, a "sweep" is when a party wins all races. The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources have conclusively called the relevant elections. If all three sources do not achieve consensus in calling the relevant races for this market, it will resolve based on the official certification.

Currently, this market suggests a strong likelihood of a specific outcome in the Senate races, with 67.5% probability assigned to the leading scenario. This contrasts with recent polling averages, which show a more uncertain picture, with races appearing highly competitive. While polls capture a snapshot of current voter sentiment, this market reflects what traders believe will *actually* happen, incorporating not just polls but also factors like fundraising, candidate quality, and potential unforeseen events. It’s important to remember that polls are subject to sampling error and strategic response bias, while this market aggregates the wisdom of the crowd.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting a higher perceived likelihood. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is driven entirely by supply and demand, meaning the collective wisdom of traders determines the probabilities displayed. This creates a dynamic and responsive indicator of expectations for the Senate races.
This market resolves around Nov 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the results of the Michigan, Texas, and Ohio Senate elections are verifiable from credible public reporting. The market will determine which party controls the Senate based on the official election results. The resolution will reflect which party holds a majority of seats after the election, and any subsequent events that affect Senate control. This market’s resolution is based on the final, certified election results from each state.
Several factors could significantly impact this market between now and Nov 3, 2026. Major economic shifts, significant national or local events, or unexpected candidate developments – such as a prominent candidate dropping out or facing scandal – could all cause traders to reassess their probabilities. Changes in polling data, fundraising reports, and key endorsements will also be closely watched. Furthermore, any major policy announcements or shifts in the political landscape could influence trading activity and move the odds in this market.
