On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, traders set prices through a continuous order book where each bid and ask reflects participant expectations for the outcome. The current implied probability shows how the market views each candidate’s chance of winning, adjusting dynamically with new information and trading volume. This decentralized pricing mechanism captures a collective forecast that can shift rapidly in response to news or polling updates.
This market resolves around Oct 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the election results are verifiable from credible public reporting. The final tally of votes will determine the winner, and the market will close based on official announcements from authoritative electoral sources. Timing depends on when official results are declared, typically following the election night counts and any required recounts.
Key events such as debate performance, candidate scandals, shifts in polling data, campaign funding changes, and endorsements from influential figures can all impact this market. Economic announcements, regional issues affecting voter sentiment, and strategic alliances between parties may also cause price swings. Traders will react to any development that alters perceptions of each candidate’s electability, often moving odds in advance of the final vote.
