Description

This market will resolve to "Up" if the QQQ/USDT price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than the price at the beginning of that range. It will resolve to "Down" if the QQQ/USDT price at the end of the time range is lower than the price at the beginning of that range. If the two prices are exactly equal, the market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is Chainlink, specifically the QQQ/USDT data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/qqq-usdt-markpriceindex-datalink The resolution source uses the index price (field i) from Binance's USDS-Margined Futures Mark Price Stream for All Markets (!markPrice@arr), denominated in the quote currency. This market is based solely on the price reported by the Chainlink QQQ/USDT data stream, not on other sources or futures markets. If Chainlink data is unavailable or otherwise unusable for resolution, the market will resolve based on a consensus of reliable sources. 2026-10-29T14:45:00Z

Frequently asked questions

On Predict, the dashboard for the QQQ direction market tracks the current odds of the QQQ rising or falling between 10:45 AM and 11:00 AM ET on October 29th. You’ll find a price history chart showing how the probabilities have shifted over time, along with the total volume traded in this market, currently at $128. The 24-hour volume is also displayed, showing $126 worth of trading activity. This provides a real-time view of how traders are assessing the likely direction of the QQQ during that specific timeframe.

Currently, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than traditional analyst forecasts. While analysts may offer long-term projections based on fundamental analysis, this market focuses on a very short-term price movement. The collective wisdom of traders on Predict can sometimes anticipate immediate market reactions to news or events more accurately than broader consensus estimates. It’s important to remember that analyst forecasts and prediction market probabilities represent distinct approaches to forecasting, each with its own strengths and weaknesses, and this market provides a unique data point.

On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous auction where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief in whether the QQQ will be up or down during the specified time. The price of these contracts directly reflects the probability of each outcome, as determined by supply and demand. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders believe the QQQ will rise, the higher the price of the 'up' contracts will climb, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust probabilities accordingly, providing a real-time assessment of market sentiment.

This market resolves around Oct 29, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the direction of the QQQ will be determined by comparing its price at 10:45 AM ET to its price at 11:00 AM ET on October 29th. If the price at 11:00 AM ET is higher than at 10:45 AM ET, the 'up' outcome will be declared the winner. Conversely, if the price is lower, the 'down' outcome will prevail. This straightforward comparison provides a clear and objective resolution for this market.

Several signals or events could significantly move this market before it resolves. Unexpected economic data releases, such as inflation reports or GDP figures, could trigger a market reaction. Major news events affecting technology companies within the QQQ, like earnings announcements or regulatory changes, are also likely catalysts. Geopolitical developments or shifts in investor sentiment could also influence trading activity. Even high-profile comments from Federal Reserve officials could impact the QQQ’s direction during the specified timeframe, leading to substantial price fluctuations in this market.
