This event tracks the hourly rental price of NVIDIA H200 GPU compute resources as measured on July 31, 2026. The market uses pricing data from Ornn's compute pricing index to determine whether the H200's cost per hour falls within various price thresholds.
Resolution is based on the H200 compute per hour value reported by Ornn (https://dashboard.ornnai.com/) on July 31, 2026, using the USD iteration of the index. Each outcome resolves to Yes if the reported value exceeds its specified price threshold, with thresholds ranging from $2.65 to $4.55 per hour. Values are rounded to two decimal places. If no data is available by the expiration date, all outcomes excluding "No data" or "None" resolve to No. Post-expiration revisions to the underlying data are not considered.
Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional analyst forecasts because they aggregate real-money bets from traders with direct financial incentives to forecast accurately. While equity research reports and technology analysts may publish price targets based on historical trends and supply-chain modeling, this market reflects live consensus from participants actively trading on their convictions. Analysts typically issue forecasts quarterly or on major product announcements, whereas prediction markets update continuously. Comparing the two reveals whether the market is pricing in more optimism or caution than the consensus view, and can highlight gaps between published guidance and trader expectations about H200 compute costs.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares corresponding to different price ranges or outcomes. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each share represents a claim on a specific outcome band, and the market price of each share reflects the collective probability assigned by active traders. As new information emerges—such as NVIDIA product announcements, supply-chain developments, or competitive pricing moves—traders adjust their positions, causing prices to shift. The spread between bid and ask prices narrows when conviction is high and widens during periods of uncertainty, making the order book a real-time barometer of market confidence in H200 pricing forecasts.
This market resolves around Aug 1, 2026, at which point the outcome is confirmed once the H200 compute price is verifiable from credible public sources. Resolution hinges on official NVIDIA pricing announcements, product launch details, or widely reported market data from reputable technology vendors and industry publications. The exact price point or range that determines the winning outcome will be measured against the predefined brackets established at market creation. Once the event is confirmed and documented through reliable public reporting, the market settles and traders' positions are finalized based on which outcome bracket the actual price falls into.
Key catalysts include NVIDIA's official H200 product announcements, detailed specifications, and launch timelines, which directly inform pricing expectations. Supply-chain developments—such as semiconductor manufacturing capacity, memory costs, or component availability—can shift production economics and thus expected retail or compute pricing. Competitive announcements from AMD, Intel, or other AI accelerator makers may pressure or support H200 pricing. Macroeconomic factors like semiconductor tariffs, trade policy, or enterprise AI spending trends also influence demand and pricing power. Earnings calls, industry conferences, and analyst reports on GPU pricing trends will likely drive trader sentiment. Any major shift in cloud provider commitments or data-center AI infrastructure spending could reshape expectations around H200 market positioning and cost.
