These markets ask forecasters to predict the closing price of NVIDIA (NVDA) stock on the final day of trading during the week of November 2nd, 2024. Markets are structured around price ranges, and a single market will resolve if the closing price falls within that range.
This market will resolve according to the Close price for NVIDIA (NVDA) on the final day of trading of the week specified in the title (normally Friday). If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket. Closing prices will be used exactly as published by Pyth, without rounding. For a standard full trading session, the closing price refers to the Pyth "Close" value of the 1-minute candle corresponding to the final minute of regular trading hours on the primary exchange. If the relevant session is shortened (for example, due to a market-holiday schedule), the Pyth "Close" value of the 1-minute candle corresponding to the final minute of that shortened session will be used. If the relevant day has no valid Pyth Close value for the 1-minute candle corresponding to the end of regular trading hours on the primary exchange, the market will use the last valid Pyth price achieved during the regular trading hours of the primary exchange as the effective closing price. If no valid Pyth price exists for that trading day due to a system outage, data failure, or other technical disruption, the official closing price published by the primary exchange on which the listed security trades will be used to determine the closing price for that day. In the event of a stock split, reverse stock split, or similar corporate action affecting the listed security during the listed time frame, this market will resolve based on split-adjusted prices as displayed on Pyth. The target price will be adjusted proportionally to reflect any stock splits. Resolution will be based on the historical price data as shown on Pyth after any adjustments have been applied. The resolution source for this market will be Pyth, specifically the "Close" values for the relevant 1-minute candle for NVIDIA (NVDA) available at https://pythdata.app/explore/Equity.US.NVDA%2FUSD.
This market will resolve to "Yes" if the official "Close" price for NVIDIA (NVDA) on the trading day specified in the title is strictly higher than the price specified in the title. A "Close" exactly equal to the specified price resolves to "No". If the market is not open on the specified day (exchange holiday or unscheduled closure), or NVIDIA (NVDA) does not trade at all during that day's regular session, this market resolves 50-50 — each side is paid at half value; this is not a refund. In the event of a stock split, reverse stock split, or similar corporate action affecting NVIDIA (NVDA), this market resolves on split-adjusted prices, and the price specified in the title is adjusted proportionally. The resolution source for this market is Yahoo Finance, specifically the NVIDIA (NVDA) "Close" prices available at https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/NVDA/ under "Historical Prices". If that data is unavailable due to an outage or other technical disruption, the official price published by the primary exchange on which NVIDIA (NVDA) trades governs.
Prediction market odds, like those found in this market, often reflect a 'wisdom of the crowd' that can differ from individual analyst forecasts. Analysts may have biases or specific models, while prediction markets aggregate the opinions of many participants with skin in the game. This market’s pricing can be seen as a real-time assessment of probabilities, incorporating a wider range of information and perspectives than a single analyst report. It’s important to note that neither prediction markets nor analyst forecasts are foolproof, but they offer complementary insights into potential future outcomes.
Polymarket and Opinion can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Prices on Polymarket and Opinion may differ due to variations in user base, trading volume, and market-specific rules. Polymarket may attract a different demographic of traders than Opinion, leading to differing opinions on NVIDIA’s stock performance. Additionally, the liquidity and volume on each platform can influence price discovery. For example, if Polymarket has significantly higher volume, its price may be more responsive to new information. These factors contribute to the observed price discrepancies in this market.
This market resolves around Nov 6, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the closing price of NVIDIA (NVDA) stock for the week of November 2nd is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official closing price reported by a major financial exchange. Traders will be able to see the final result and any associated payouts on both Polymarket and Opinion after the resolution date. This ensures a transparent and objective determination of the market’s outcome.
Several signals or events could significantly move this market before Nov 6, 2026. Major news regarding NVIDIA’s financial performance, new product announcements, or changes in the overall market sentiment towards technology stocks could all impact predictions. Unexpected economic data releases, such as inflation reports or interest rate decisions, could also influence the stock price and, consequently, this market. Additionally, any significant developments in the semiconductor industry or competitive pressures could shift trader expectations and alter the odds.
