This market will resolve according to the winner of the 2026 midterm Nebraska U.S. Senate election, inclusive of any run-offs. A candidate shall be considered to represent a party in the event that he or she is the nominee of the party in question. Candidates other than the Democratic or Republican nominee (e.g., Greens, Libertarian, independent) may be added at a later date. Candidates who run as independents will not be encompassed by the “Democrat” or “Republican” options regardless of any affiliation they may have with the party. The candidates may be named in the contract for the convenience of traders. In the event that any named candidate is replaced as the nominee of their respective party prior to election day, the name in the contract will be updated and the market will resolve based on the replacement nominee of the party. The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources call the race for the same candidate. If all three sources haven’t called the race in this state for the same candidate, this market will resolve based on the official certification.

Currently, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than traditional polling averages for the Nebraska Senate election. Polling data captures a snapshot of stated intentions, while this market represents what people are willing to *stake* on those intentions. Discrepancies can arise due to factors like polling methodology, voter turnout assumptions, and the inherent biases present in both approaches. It’s common to see prediction markets adjust more quickly to new information and potentially offer a more accurate forecast, though polls remain a valuable source of information.
On Opinion, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes. The price of each contract reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the prices adjust based on supply and demand, creating a dynamic forecast. On Opinion, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This means that the price movements are driven entirely by user activity on Opinion, and represent the collective wisdom of those participating in the market.
This market resolves around Nov 4, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official results declared by relevant election authorities for the Nebraska Senate election. The candidate who receives the most votes will be declared the winner, and that outcome will determine the settlement of contracts within this market. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings or adjust their strategies for future events.
Several factors could significantly impact this market before Nov 4, 2026. Major campaign events, such as debates or rallies, could shift voter sentiment and influence trading activity. Unexpected endorsements from prominent figures or the release of damaging information about a candidate could also cause price fluctuations. Changes in national political trends or economic conditions relevant to Nebraska could also play a role. Finally, any significant polling data releases will likely be reflected in the market prices as traders react to the new information.
