This market will resolve according to the party of the candidate who wins the NC-01 congressional district seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2026 midterm elections. The midterm elections will take place on November 3, 2026. A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).

Currently, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than traditional polling averages. While polls attempt to capture a snapshot of voter intent at a specific moment, this market aggregates the informed opinions of individuals with skin in the game. Discrepancies can arise due to factors like poll weighting, sample bias, and the ability of traders to incorporate a wider range of information, including fundraising data, candidate performance, and broader political trends. It’s common to see this market adjust more rapidly to new information than polls.
This market resolves around Nov 4, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the winner of the NC-01 House election is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official results certified by the relevant election authorities. Traders will then be paid out based on whether their chosen outcome matches the verified winner. The market’s resolution is designed to be objective and transparent, relying on publicly available data to determine the final result.
Several signals or events could significantly move this market before Nov 4, 2026. Major developments include significant fundraising reports for either candidate, unexpected endorsements from prominent figures, shifts in national political trends, and any controversies or gaffes made by the candidates. Changes in economic conditions or national security events could also influence voter sentiment and, consequently, the market’s odds. Furthermore, the release of new polling data, even if it contradicts existing trends, could trigger a re-evaluation of probabilities by traders.
