This market will resolve according to the party of the candidate who wins the MI-03 congressional district seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2026 midterm elections. The midterm elections will take place on November 3, 2026. A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).

Currently, prediction markets, like this one, often offer a different perspective than traditional polling averages. Polling averages aim to capture a snapshot of current voter preferences, while this market reflects what traders believe will *actually* happen, incorporating not just stated preferences but also factors like likely turnout, campaign effectiveness, and unforeseen events. It's common to see discrepancies, especially in competitive races, as the market can adjust more quickly to new information and strategic shifts than polls. The difference between the two can sometimes be significant, offering a potentially valuable signal beyond standard polling data.
This market resolves around Nov 4, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official results announced by election authorities for the MI-03 House election. The candidate who receives the most votes will be declared the winner, and that outcome will determine the settlement of all contracts within this market. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings or adjust their strategies for future events.
Between now and Nov 4, 2026, several factors could cause significant movement in this market. Major campaign events, such as rallies or town halls, could influence voter sentiment and, consequently, trading activity. Unexpected developments in the candidates’ personal or professional lives could also have a substantial impact. Furthermore, shifts in broader political trends, such as changes in national polling data or major legislative developments, could affect how traders assess the likelihood of different outcomes in the MI-03 House election. Any new information that alters the perceived trajectory of the race could lead to price adjustments.
