The markets assess whether the IBOVESPA stock index will reach or exceed various threshold levels at its official closing on October 26, 2026. Outcomes depend strictly on the final closing value observed that day, with no consideration for earlier movements or later adjustments.
All markets resolve based on the official closing level of the IBOVESPA (IBOV) index on October 26, 2026, observed at the official B3 closing auction. Each market has a specific threshold (e.g., at least 190,000 points, at least 191,000 points, etc.), and resolves to Yes only if the closing level meets or exceeds that threshold. The native index-point level is used without currency conversion. Data sources are evaluated hierarchically: the index itself, B3, TradingView, Trading Economics, Bloomberg News, The New York Times, BBC, CNBC, and CNN, with TradingView’s IBOV page as a reference. Observations are evaluated to two decimal places, and earlier threshold crossings or post-expiration revisions do not affect resolution. If no data is available by the expiration date, all markets except "No data" or "None" resolve to No. Kalshi disclaims any affiliation with B3, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Currently, it's difficult to directly compare the predictions embedded in this market to traditional analyst forecasts. However, the price action in this market represents a collective intelligence view, aggregating the insights of many traders. If analysts are consistently predicting a certain range for the IBOVESPA, we would expect to see the price of contracts within that range increase, reflecting higher demand. Discrepancies between this market and analyst expectations could signal areas where the market believes analysts are over- or underestimating the potential closing level.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders submit bids (the price they're willing to buy at) and asks (the price they're willing to sell at). When a bid and ask match, a trade occurs. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price fluctuates based on supply and demand, reflecting the collective belief of traders about the IBOVESPA's future closing level. Higher prices indicate greater confidence in a higher closing level, while lower prices suggest expectations of a lower level. The current price is the best estimate of the probability-weighted average outcome.
This market resolves around Oct 26, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the IBOVESPA closing level is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final closing level of the IBOVESPA on that date will determine which contracts pay out and to what extent. Traders who correctly predicted the closing level will receive a payout based on the contract terms. The market's resolution is based on publicly available data and is designed to be objective and transparent, representing the actual performance of the IBOVESPA.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Major economic announcements from Brazil, such as inflation reports, GDP growth figures, or interest rate decisions, could all cause price movements. Political developments, including policy changes or shifts in government stability, are also key catalysts. Global market conditions, particularly in the United States and China, can impact investor sentiment towards Brazilian assets. Unexpected events, like natural disasters or geopolitical shocks, could also create volatility in this market, shifting expectations for the IBOVESPA's closing level.
