This market will resolve according to the number of the ten US House of Representatives districts listed below that are won by the Democratic Party in the 2026 United States midterm election. The ten districts are Arizona's 6th and 7th Districts, California's 25th and 52nd Districts, New Mexico's 2nd District, and Texas's 15th, 16th, 23rd, 28th, and 34th Districts. All elections for those districts held as part of the 2026 United States midterm election that elect voting members and determine representation in the upcoming 120th congress are included. Special elections to fill a vacancy for the remainder of an unexpired term are not included, whether or not held concurrently with the 2026 United States midterm election. Runoffs for qualifying elections will determine attribution of the relevant seat. A district counts toward the Democratic total if the winning candidate is the nominee of the Democratic Party or has a ballot-listed affiliation with the Democratic Party. A win by any other candidate does not count toward the Democratic total. The resolution sources for this market will be official information from relevant state electoral authorities, the United States Congress, and a consensus of credible reporting.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in different outcomes. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This means the market price is determined by supply and demand, reflecting the collective wisdom of participants. As new information emerges, traders adjust their positions, causing the prices to fluctuate and providing a real-time assessment of the likely outcome for the number of Mexico border seats Democrats will win.
This market resolves around Nov 4, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final seat counts are verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official results certified by relevant election authorities for the House of Representatives races in districts along the Mexico border. The number of seats won by Democrats in these districts will be the determining factor for settling this market. Traders should monitor official election results as they become available following the election.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Major economic news, shifts in national polling data, or unexpected developments in key races could all cause traders to reassess their positions. Candidate performance in debates, significant campaign fundraising reports, and any major endorsements could also influence the market. Furthermore, events specific to the Mexico border region, such as changes in immigration policy or border security measures, might shift perceptions of how these districts will vote, causing movement in this market.
