This market will resolve to "Yes" if the Treasury 30-year yield reaches or is higher than the listed value for any date between September 3, 2026 and December 31, 2026. Otherwise this market will resolve to "No". This market will resolve as soon as the Treasury 30-year yield reaches or is higher than the listed value, or once data is available for December 31, 2026. If no qualifying value is published and data is not available for December 31, 2026 by January 14, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "No". The resolution source for this market is the Department of the treasury, specifically the data listed under "Daily Treasury Par Yield Curve Rates" for the column "30 Yr" (see: https://home.treasury.gov/resource-center/data-chart-center/interest-rates/TextView?type=daily_treasury_yield_curve&field_tdr_date_value=2026).

Currently, prediction market participants are indicating a strong belief that the 30-year Treasury yield will reach 5.50% before Dec 31, 2026. This contrasts with some traditional analyst forecasts, which show a wider range of potential outcomes. While many analysts anticipate rising yields, the degree of certainty reflected in this market is notably high. It's important to remember that prediction markets represent a collective intelligence, aggregating the views of numerous traders, while analyst forecasts are individual opinions. This offers a different perspective on the potential path of interest rates.
This market resolves around Dec 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the highest 30-year Treasury yield achieved before that date is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on publicly available data from the U.S. Department of the Treasury. This ensures a transparent and objective determination of whether the yield reached the levels specified in the various contracts offered within this market. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings or fulfill their obligations based on the final yield.
Several key economic indicators and events could significantly impact this market. Inflation reports, Federal Reserve policy announcements, and unexpectedly strong or weak economic growth data are all likely to influence trader sentiment. Geopolitical events and shifts in global economic conditions could also play a role. Any news that alters expectations about the future path of interest rates, or the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy, will likely cause price fluctuations in this market as traders adjust their positions to reflect the new information.
