Frequently asked questions

On Polymarket, the Haiti election delay market dashboard tracks the current odds and price history for whether Haiti's upcoming elections will be delayed again. It also displays 24-hour volume of $274 to show trader interest and liquidity. This real-time view lets users monitor how the market perceives the likelihood of further postponements, with data updating as new information emerges.

While public polling data for Haiti can be sparse or outdated due to logistical challenges, this market often reflects a more immediate, data-driven outlook. Traders react quickly to news, security developments, and statements from political leaders or international bodies. As a result, the odds in this market may diverge from traditional polling averages, especially when events suggest instability or administrative hurdles that polls haven't captured.

On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Polymarket, traders set the price through buying and selling contracts that represent the two possible outcomes. The current implied chance reflects the balance of buy and sell orders, with market depth and recent trades influencing short-term fluctuations. Volume of $621 helps indicate how actively the market is being traded, while price momentum can shift rapidly with political news or expert commentary.

This market resolves around Feb 22, 2027, with the outcome confirmed once the election date status is verifiable from credible public reporting. If official announcements or widely reported news confirm another delay beyond the scheduled timeframe, the 'delayed' contract pays out. Otherwise, the market settles in favor of an on-time election, based on authoritative government or international election monitoring updates.

Key signals that could shift this market include official statements from Haiti’s electoral council, actions by security forces, international pressure or support from organizations like the UN or the US, and any major civil unrest or protests. Natural disasters, logistical breakdowns, or sudden political realignments might also influence trader sentiment. Each of these developments can cause rapid re-pricing as participants reassess the probability of another postponement.
