This market will resolve to “Yes” if Grok (Web) experiences an incident labeled “outage” on the official xAI Grok (Web) status page between market creation and the listed date (ET). Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No.” Only incidents listed under Grok (Web) will be considered. Incidents affecting Grok in X, Grok (iOS), Grok (Android), or similar but not Grok (Web), will not qualify. Incidents labeled “disruption” or “info” will not qualify. An incident’s status while it remains ongoing will not determine the market’s resolution; only incidents marked “Resolved” will be considered. An incident which is marked "Resolved" outside this market’s timeframe will only qualify if ongoing at the end of the listed calendar date (ET), in which case the market will remain open until that incident is marked “Resolved,” and resolution of this market will be based on the incident classification displayed immediately after it is marked "Resolved." The primary resolution source for this market will be the official xAI Grok (Web) status page at https://status.x.ai/grok-com. If this resolution source is unavailable at check time, this market will remain open until it comes back online and resolve based on the first check after it becomes available. If it becomes permanently unavailable, this market will resolve to "No".

Comparing prediction market odds to analyst forecasts reveals how collective intelligence differs from expert opinion. Currently, the market is pricing in a specific probability of a Grok outage, based on the aggregated predictions of traders on Polymarket. This differs from traditional analysis, which relies on individual expert assessments of technical risks and past performance. Often, prediction markets can incorporate a wider range of information and react more quickly to new developments than analyst reports, offering a potentially more dynamic and accurate forecast for this event.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief about whether a Grok outage will occur. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of the event happening. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price fluctuates based on supply and demand, driven by new information and changing sentiment among traders. Higher demand for shares increases the price, indicating a growing belief in an outage, while increased selling pressure lowers the price. This dynamic pricing allows the market to quickly adjust to new information.
This market resolves around Jan 1, 2027, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will depend on whether a significant, publicly reported outage of the Grok service occurred before the resolution date. The specifics of what constitutes a 'significant outage' are defined within the market's rules on Polymarket. Traders should review those rules to understand the conditions for a positive or negative resolution. The final outcome will be determined by the availability of clear and reliable information regarding the Grok service's operational status.
Several signals or events could significantly impact this market. Any reports of technical issues or vulnerabilities within the Grok infrastructure would likely increase the price of shares, signaling a higher probability of an outage. Conversely, announcements of successful upgrades, improved system stability, or robust security measures could decrease the price. Major news events impacting the company behind Grok, or broader internet infrastructure disruptions, could also influence trading activity. Monitoring these factors will be crucial for understanding how this market evolves leading up to Jan 1, 2027.
