Description

On June 16, 2026, rumors regarding OpenAI's next-generation audio model named GPT-Bidi-1 surfaced. You can read more about that here: https://www.testingcatalog.com/openai-prepares-major-chatgpt-voice-upgrade-with-gpt-bidi-1/. This market will resolve to "Yes" if OpenAI makes a qualifying GPT “Bidi” or “Bdi” next-generation audio/voice model for ChatGPT available to the general public by the specified date (ET). Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. Any GPT model whose official name includes “Bidi” or “Bdi” will qualify. A differently named OpenAI voice/audio model may also qualify if a consensus of credible reporting identifies it as the rumored model referenced above. Other GPT releases will not qualify. A qualifying model must be launched and publicly accessible, including via open beta or open rolling waitlist signups. A closed beta or any form of private access will not suffice. The release must be either clearly defined and publicly announced by OpenAI as being accessible to the general public or otherwise made publicly accessible and explicitly labeled within the company's official website. Labeling errors, placeholder text, or version names displayed on the website that do not correspond to a model that is actually accessible to the general public will not qualify. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from OpenAI; however, a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.

Frequently asked questions

On Polymarket, the GPT-Bidi-1 release market dashboard displays real-time odds on which organization will release this model first. The interface shows current trader positions, historical price movements, and liquidity depth across all available outcomes. Over its lifetime, this market has accumulated total volume of $27,818, with $17,282 traded in the last 24 hours. These metrics reflect active trader interest in predicting the timing and identity of the developer behind this anticipated AI release.

Prediction markets like this one often diverge from traditional analyst estimates because traders face direct financial incentives to forecast accurately. While analysts may rely on press releases, industry roadmaps, and expert opinion, market participants aggregate dispersed information through real-money betting. This market's odds reflect the collective confidence of traders betting on specific outcomes, offering a dynamic alternative to static analyst predictions. Comparing the two reveals whether the market is pricing in information or sentiment that traditional forecasters have overlooked.

On Polymarket, traders set prices by buying and selling shares representing each potential developer. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market uses an automated market maker model where share prices fluctuate based on order flow and liquidity. Each outcome is priced between 0 and 100 cents, with the sum of all outcome prices equaling one dollar. As new information emerges about development timelines or organizational announcements, traders adjust positions, moving prices to reflect updated probabilities of each organization releasing GPT-Bidi-1 first.

This market resolves around Jul 31, 2026, at which point the outcome will be confirmed against credible public sources. The winning outcome is determined by which organization officially releases GPT-Bidi-1 first, based on verifiable announcements and public documentation. Traders holding shares in the correct outcome receive their payout once resolution is finalized. Until that date, prices remain fluid as new developments and announcements shift trader expectations about the likely winner.

Major catalysts include official announcements from leading AI labs regarding model releases, research papers or technical disclosures hinting at imminent launches, and regulatory developments affecting deployment timelines. Hiring announcements, funding rounds, or partnership news from organizations rumored to be developing similar models can shift trader sentiment. Media coverage speculating on release dates, competitive pressures between labs, and any public statements from executives about development progress will likely trigger significant price movements. Unexpected delays or accelerations in related AI releases may also influence how traders assess the probability of each outcome.
