Description

This market will resolve to "Yes" if the official "Close" price for Google (GOOGL) on the trading day specified in the title is strictly higher than the price specified in the title. A "Close" exactly equal to the specified price resolves to "No". If the market is not open on the specified day (exchange holiday or unscheduled closure), or Google (GOOGL) does not trade at all during that day's regular session, this market resolves 50-50 — each side is paid at half value; this is not a refund. In the event of a stock split, reverse stock split, or similar corporate action affecting Google (GOOGL), this market resolves on split-adjusted prices, and the price specified in the title is adjusted proportionally. The resolution source for this market is Yahoo Finance, specifically the Google (GOOGL) "Close" prices available at https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/GOOGL/ under "Historical Prices". If that data is unavailable due to an outage or other technical disruption, the official price published by the primary exchange on which Google (GOOGL) trades governs.

Frequently asked questions

On Opinion, the dashboard for the Google stock market tracks the current odds of whether Google’s stock price will be above its current value on October 5, 2026. You’ll find a dynamic price representing the probability of a ‘yes’ outcome, along with a history of how those odds have shifted over time. This provides a real-time view of how traders are assessing the potential for Google’s stock performance.

On Opinion, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about the future stock price. The price of these contracts fluctuates based on supply and demand, effectively creating a real-time probability assessment. On Opinion, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe the stock will be above its current value, the higher the price will climb, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust expectations as conditions change, reflecting the aggregated sentiment of those participating.

This market resolves around Oct 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the resolution will depend on whether Google’s stock price closes above its current value on October 5, 2026. The final price will be determined by publicly available financial data from a recognized exchange. Traders who correctly predicted the outcome will receive a payout based on the odds at the time of their trade, while those who predicted incorrectly will forfeit their stake.

Several factors could significantly influence this market. Major announcements from Google regarding new products, earnings reports, or significant changes in company leadership would likely cause price fluctuations. Broader economic trends, such as interest rate changes or shifts in the overall stock market, could also play a role. Unexpected news related to Google’s competitors or the technology sector more generally could also move the market. Any event that alters investor sentiment towards Google’s future prospects has the potential to impact the odds reflected in this market.
