This market will resolve according to the winner of the 2026 Florida gubernatorial election. A candidate shall be considered to represent a party in the event that he or she is the nominee of the party in question. Candidates other than the Democratic or Republican nominee (e.g., Greens, Libertarian, independent) may be added at a later date. Candidates who run as independents will not be encompassed by the “Democrat” or “Republican” options regardless of any affiliation they may have with the party. The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources call the race for the same candidate. If all three sources haven’t called the race in this state for the same candidate, this market will resolve based on the official certification.

Currently, prediction market odds often offer a different perspective than traditional polling averages. While polls aim to capture a snapshot of voter intentions at a specific moment, this market reflects what individuals are willing to put their money on. Historically, prediction markets have sometimes been more accurate than polls, particularly in capturing late-breaking shifts in momentum. However, it’s important to remember that both approaches have limitations and can be influenced by various factors, and this market is not a replacement for comprehensive analysis.
On Opinion, this market is priced through a continuous process where traders buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Opinion, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders believe an outcome is likely, the higher the price of its corresponding contract will rise. Conversely, if sentiment shifts, prices will adjust accordingly. This dynamic pricing mechanism creates a constantly updated forecast of the election’s potential results.
This market resolves around Nov 4, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official results declared by relevant election authorities. The candidate who receives the most votes in the official election count will be considered the winner, and that outcome will determine the settlement of this market. Traders who correctly predicted the winner will receive a payout based on the odds at the time of their trade.
Several signals or events could significantly impact this market. Major developments in the candidates’ campaigns, such as significant policy announcements or impactful debates, could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected economic news or national events could also influence perceptions of the candidates’ electability. Polling data releases, while not always directly correlated with market prices, can still act as a catalyst for trading activity. Finally, any unforeseen events – like a major scandal or a shift in endorsements – could cause substantial movement in this market.
