This set of markets tracks whether the EURUSD exchange rate will exceed specific thresholds at a precise moment in the future. Each market corresponds to a different threshold level, allowing participants to speculate on the direction and magnitude of currency value changes at that exact time.
All markets resolve based on the EURUSD opening candlestick value published by Pyth at 5:00 PM ET on October 30, 2026. For each market, if the rate exceeds the specified threshold (e.g., 1.097, 1.099, etc.), it resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. The resolution uses the most recent available data from Pyth if no value is published at the exact time, and revisions after expiration are disregarded. All rates are rounded to four decimal places for evaluation.
Currently, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than traditional analyst forecasts. While analysts frequently rely on economic models and geopolitical assessments, this market aggregates the informed opinions of a diverse group of traders. It's common to see discrepancies between the two, particularly when unexpected events or ‘black swan’ scenarios are considered possible. The collective wisdom of the crowd in this market can sometimes anticipate shifts in sentiment before they are reflected in conventional forecasts, offering a unique signal.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the EURUSD exchange rate. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders set the odds by placing bids and asks, and the market price fluctuates based on supply and demand. This dynamic pricing mechanism ensures that the market reflects the most up-to-date information and collective intelligence of participants.
This market resolves around Oct 30, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the EURUSD exchange rate at 5:00 PM EDT on October 30th is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final price will be sourced from a widely recognized financial data provider and will determine which side of the market settles positively. Traders holding contracts on the correct side will receive a payout, while those on the incorrect side will forfeit their stake. The resolution process is designed to be transparent and objective.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Major economic data releases from the United States or the Eurozone, such as inflation reports, employment figures, or GDP growth, are likely to cause volatility. Unexpected geopolitical events, like shifts in international trade relations or political instability within the EU, could also move the market. Central bank announcements regarding monetary policy, particularly from the Federal Reserve or the European Central Bank, will be closely watched by traders and could trigger substantial price swings in this market.
