This set of markets tracks whether the EURUSD exchange rate will exceed specific thresholds at a precise moment. Each market has a different threshold, allowing participants to speculate on various levels of the currency pair's value at that time.
All markets resolve based on the EURUSD opening candlestick value published by Pyth at 5:00 PM EDT on October 16, 2026. For each market, if the rate is above the specified threshold at that exact time, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. The resolution uses the most recent available data from Pyth if no value is published at the exact time, and revisions after the expiration time are disregarded. All rates are rounded to four decimal places for resolution purposes.
Currently, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than traditional analyst forecasts. While analysts may rely on economic models and geopolitical assessments, this market aggregates the wisdom of the crowd, representing a diverse range of informed opinions. It’s common to see discrepancies, particularly when unexpected events or shifts in sentiment occur. Comparing this market’s implied probabilities to those offered by financial news outlets and expert predictions can provide a broader understanding of potential outcomes for the EURUSD price.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction, meaning traders buy and sell contracts representing different EURUSD price ranges. The price of each contract fluctuates based on supply and demand, reflecting the collective belief of participants about the likely outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The closer we get to Oct 16, 2026, the more the price will converge towards the actual EURUSD exchange rate at the specified time, as uncertainty diminishes and traders adjust their positions.
This market resolves around Oct 16, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the EURUSD exchange rate at 5:00 PM EDT on October 16th is verifiable from credible public reporting. The market will settle to the value of 100 minus the absolute percentage difference between the final EURUSD price and the midpoint of the winning range. This ensures a clear and objective determination of the outcome based on publicly available data, reflecting the actual price at the specified time.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Major economic data releases from the Eurozone or the United States, such as inflation reports, employment figures, or GDP growth, are likely to cause price fluctuations. Unexpected geopolitical events, shifts in central bank policy (particularly from the European Central Bank or the Federal Reserve), and even significant news related to international trade could all move this market. Any surprise announcements or changes in market sentiment could lead to substantial shifts in the implied probabilities.
