This set of markets tracks whether the EURUSD exchange rate will exceed specific thresholds at a precise moment. Each market corresponds to a different threshold level, allowing participants to assess the likelihood of the rate being above that level at the specified time.
All markets resolve based on the EURUSD opening candlestick value published by Pyth at 5pm ET on October 9, 2026. For each market, if the rate at that time is above the specified threshold, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. Revisions to the exchange rate after the expiration time are disregarded. Values are rounded to four decimal places. If Pyth does not publish data at the exact time, the most recent available value is used for resolution.
Currently, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than traditional analyst forecasts. While analysts may rely on economic models and geopolitical assessments, this market aggregates the collective wisdom of traders who are directly incentivized to predict the outcome accurately. Discrepancies can arise from differing interpretations of data, risk appetite, or the inclusion of information not readily available to analysts. Examining these differences can provide a more nuanced understanding of potential EURUSD price movements and the factors influencing them.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction, where traders buy and sell contracts representing different price ranges for EURUSD. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that price range being the actual EURUSD price at the specified time. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders adjust their bids and asks based on their own analysis and expectations, creating a dynamic market that reflects the collective forecast. The more traders believe a particular price range is likely, the higher the price of the corresponding contract will climb.
This market resolves around Oct 9, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the EURUSD price at 5:00 PM EDT on October 9th is verifiable from credible public reporting. The market will settle to the value of 100 minus the absolute difference between the actual EURUSD price and the closest contract price. This ensures a clear and objective determination of the winning contracts based on publicly available data. Traders should monitor the market closely as the resolution date approaches.
Several key signals and events could significantly move this market before Oct 9, 2026. Unexpected economic data releases from the Eurozone or the United States, such as inflation reports, employment figures, or GDP growth, could trigger substantial price fluctuations. Geopolitical events, like shifts in global trade tensions or unexpected political developments, also have the potential to impact the EURUSD exchange rate. Furthermore, any surprising announcements from the European Central Bank or the Federal Reserve regarding monetary policy could lead to significant shifts in market sentiment and trading activity.
