On September 18, 2026, President Trump announced that CNN and two other media outlets were banned from the White House. On September 24, a federal court ordered the White House to reverse this ban. This market will resolve to "Yes" if, between market creation and the specified date, 11:59 PM ET, CNN is denied entry to the White House. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". CNN will be considered to have been denied entry to the White House if CNN employees are either denied entry on behalf of their outlet affiliation, or if CNN declines to enter due to a ban on their access to the White House going into effect. The following do not qualify: a statement that a ban may or might be reinstated; reiteration of the previous ban without meeting the conditions listed above; an appeal of a relevant court order; discussions or negotiations about reinstating a ban; or third-party speculation or reporting about a potential reinstatement of a ban. Once CNN has been denied entry, this market will resolve to "Yes" regardless of whether access is subsequently reinstated. The primary resolution sources will be official information from the White House and CNN, official court records in any related litigation, and a consensus of credible reporting.

Currently, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than traditional polling data on who might be denied White House access. While polls capture a snapshot of stated opinions, this market reflects what people are willing to put their money on. This difference can be significant, as prediction markets incentivize participants to express their *actual* beliefs, rather than socially desirable ones. It’s important to note that polls and prediction markets measure different things, and both can provide valuable insights into public sentiment and potential future events.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous trading mechanism where participants buy and sell shares representing different outcomes. The price of each share reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as determined by supply and demand. As more people buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds constantly adjust to incorporate new information and changing perceptions about the likelihood of various individuals facing denial of entry to the White House.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine whether CNN was denied entry by the White House at any point before the resolution date. The outcome will be based on official statements, reliable news reports, and other publicly available information documenting access decisions. The resolution will be based on whether a verifiable denial of access occurred, not on the reasons behind any such decision.
Several signals or events could significantly move this market. Any official statements from the White House regarding press access policies or specific networks would be a major catalyst. Changes in the political climate, such as heightened tensions between the administration and certain media outlets, could also influence trading activity. Unexpected events, like a controversial report or a public dispute, could quickly shift perceptions and alter the odds. Increased media coverage of the issue, or statements from key figures, could also impact this market.
