On Polymarket, the current implied chance for each candidate in the Charlottetown mayoral race reflects trader sentiment rather than traditional polling. While polls sample public opinion through surveys, this market prices in real-time based on betting activity. Traders may price in factors beyond poll numbers, such as recent news, candidate viability, or campaign momentum. Because market participants can bet on outcomes, their collective judgment can diverge from poll averages — sometimes anticipating shifts before they appear in public surveys. The difference highlights how prediction markets aggregate information differently than traditional polling methods.
This market resolves around Nov 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the election result is verifiable from credible public reporting. The winner is determined by official tallies from the Charlottetown municipal election, and the market settles accordingly. No further interpretation is needed beyond confirming the publicly announced result.
Key events such as debates, endorsements, scandals, or shifts in polling data can significantly move this market. Media coverage highlighting candidate strengths or controversies often changes trader sentiment. As the election nears, early voting trends or endorsements from influential figures may also cause sharp price swings, reflecting updated expectations about who will win.
