General elections to elect the 93 members of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia are scheduled to take place on October 24, 2026. This market will resolve according to the political party that wins the greatest number of seats in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia as a result of this election. If the results of the specified election are not definitively known by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". Parties will be primarily ranked by the number of seats won in the specified election. If two or more parties are tied on seats, ties will be broken by the total number of valid votes received, with higher vote totals ranking higher. If parties remain tied, ties will be broken by alphabetical order of the listed party names. This market will resolve to the party that occupies the highest finishing position after applying this ranking. This market's resolution will be based solely on the number of seats won by the named party. A candidate will be considered a member of the party they contest the election under. This market will resolve based on the results of the elections, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. In the case of ambiguity, this market will resolve solely based on the results as reported by Elections BC (https://elections.bc.ca/).

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous process where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as determined by the collective actions of all participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting growing confidence. Conversely, selling pressure drives prices down. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to aggregate information and provide a real-time assessment of the election's likely result.
This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official results declared by Elections British Columbia, identifying the party that wins the majority of seats in the Legislative Assembly. The market will then settle to 100% for the winning party and 0% for all others. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will receive a payout equivalent to their share size, while those holding shares in losing outcomes will forfeit their investment.
Several factors could significantly influence this market before Oct 24, 2026. Major events like televised debates, unexpected policy announcements from party leaders, or significant shifts in economic conditions could all cause traders to reassess their positions. Polling data releases will also be closely watched, although, as discussed, the market doesn't necessarily track polls directly. Unexpected endorsements or scandals involving candidates could also create volatility. Any news that alters the perceived likelihood of a party forming a majority government is likely to move the odds in this market.
