On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous exchange mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in a particular outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in a candidate, the price increases, reflecting growing confidence in their chances of winning the Brighton mayoral election. Conversely, selling pressure drives the price down. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the collective wisdom of the crowd.
This market resolves around Oct 28, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The winner of the Brighton mayoral election, as declared by the official election authorities, will determine the resolution of this market. The market will settle to 100% for the winning candidate and 0% for all others. Traders should monitor official sources for the election results to understand when and how this market will be finalized.
Several signals and events could significantly impact this market before Oct 28, 2026. Major endorsements from influential figures, unexpected campaign finance disclosures, and shifts in media coverage could all influence trader sentiment. Key policy debates and candidate performance in public forums are also potential catalysts. Any significant event that alters perceptions of a candidate's viability, such as a scandal or a strong debate performance, is likely to cause noticeable movement in the market for the Brighton mayoral election.
