This group forecasts the Bank of Mexico's decision regarding interest rates at its November 2026 meeting. The markets consider various potential outcomes, including rate cuts, hikes, or maintaining the current rate. Resolution will be based on the official announcement from the Bank of Mexico.
This market will resolve according to the change in basis points in the target for the overnight interbank interest rate resulting from the November 2026 meeting of the Bank of Mexico, relative to the level it was prior to this meeting. The resolution source will be official information from the Bank of Mexico, including the statement or release from its November 2026 meeting, scheduled for November 5, 2026, as listed on the official Bank of Mexico calendar (https://www.banxico.org.mx/viewers2/JSP/calendarioDifusion_es.jsp). This market may resolve as soon as the statement or release of the Bank of Mexico resulting from its November 2026 meeting with relevant data is issued. If the specified rate is defined by an upper and lower bound, the relevant change will be the change to the upper bound. If the specified rate is changed to a level not expressed in the displayed options, the change will be rounded according to the following guidelines. Increases or decreases of less than 25 bps will be rounded to 25 bps (e.g. an increase or decrease of 10 bps would be considered to be an increase or decrease of 25 bps). Increases or decreases of greater than 25 bps will be rounded to the nearest 25 bps and will be rounded away from 0 in cases of equidistance (e.g., an increase or decrease of 37.5 bps would be considered to be an increase or decrease of 50 bps). Displayed options of “Increase” or “Decrease” will include policy rate increases or decreases of any size. If the specified meeting is postponed to a date and time before the start of the next scheduled meeting, this market will resolve based on the outcome of that postponed meeting. If the specified meeting is cancelled, or postponed such that no decision is announced by the start of the next scheduled meeting, this market will resolve to the “No Change” bracket. Emergency changes to the specified rate not resulting from the specified meeting will not be considered.
The resolution of these markets hinges on the official policy rate decision announced by the Bank of Mexico following its November Governing Board meeting. Each market corresponds to a specific rate movement: cutting or hiking by various basis point amounts, or maintaining the current rate. Only changes to the primary policy rate are considered; multiple rates issued by the bank are disregarded unless explicitly stated. If the scheduled meeting is cancelled or delayed beyond the expiration date, all 'No change' markets resolve to Yes, while all others resolve to No. Emergency rate adjustments occurring outside scheduled meetings do not impact contract resolutions. Basis point ranges are inclusive, meaning that a 50 basis point cut, for example, satisfies both the 'Cut 50bps' and 'Cut more than 50bps' markets. The outcome is determined solely by the official announcement made at the conclusion of the meeting.
Prediction market odds often reflect a ‘wisdom of the crowd’ perspective, potentially incorporating information and analysis not fully captured in traditional analyst forecasts. This market, focusing on the Bank of Mexico decision, aggregates diverse viewpoints from traders on Polymarket and Kalshi. While analyst forecasts provide expert opinions, the prices here represent what individuals are willing to risk to bet on different scenarios. Discrepancies can arise due to differing methodologies or the inclusion of non-public information within the market. Comparing these odds to consensus analyst expectations can offer a broader understanding of potential outcomes.
Prices for the Bank of Mexico decision may vary between Polymarket and Kalshi due to several factors. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform has a different user base with varying risk appetites and access to information, which influences trading activity. Trading volume also differs—Polymarket currently has a larger share of the overall volume—and this can create price discrepancies. Additionally, the specific market structures and fee schedules on each platform can impact how traders price the same underlying event. These differences are normal and reflect the dynamic nature of prediction markets.
