This set of markets tracks whether the exchange rate between the Australian Dollar and the US Dollar will exceed specific thresholds at a precise moment in time. Each market has a different threshold level, allowing participants to assess the likelihood of the rate being above various values at that moment.
All markets resolve based on the AUDUSD exchange rate's opening candlestick value at 5pm ET on October 30, 2026, as published by Pyth. For each market, if the rate at that specific time is above the stated threshold, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. Post-expiration revisions to the exchange rate are disregarded in the resolution process. Values are rounded to four decimal places unless otherwise specified. If Pyth does not provide data at the exact time, the most recent available value is used for resolution.
Currently, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than traditional analyst forecasts. While analysts typically provide point estimates or ranges based on economic models, this market aggregates the collective wisdom of many traders. This can lead to outcomes that diverge from consensus analyst expectations, especially when considering unforeseen events or shifts in market sentiment. It's common to see this market incorporate information that hasn’t yet made its way into standard financial models, offering a potentially unique view of future price movements.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction, meaning traders buy and sell contracts representing different potential AUDUSD exchange rate outcomes. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as determined by supply and demand. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders adjust their bids and asks based on their own analysis and expectations, creating a dynamic pricing mechanism. As more traders participate, the market price converges towards a collective assessment of the most likely AUDUSD exchange rate on Oct 30, 2026.
This market resolves around Oct 30, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the actual AUDUSD exchange rate at 5:00 PM EDT on that date is verifiable from credible public reporting. The market will reflect the range within which the exchange rate falls, as determined by reliable financial data sources. The resolution process ensures transparency and accuracy, providing a definitive outcome based on established market data. This allows for a clear and objective determination of the market’s result.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Major economic data releases from Australia or the United States, such as employment figures, inflation reports, or GDP growth, are key catalysts. Unexpected geopolitical events, shifts in central bank policy (like interest rate decisions by the Reserve Bank of Australia or the Federal Reserve), and changes in global risk sentiment could also drive substantial price movements. Any news impacting the relative strength of the Australian and US economies has the potential to shift trader expectations and alter the probabilities reflected in this market.
