Resolves Feb 8, 2027
$
This event group tracks Apple's market capitalization at the end of 2026 across multiple bracket markets on Polymarket and used average transaction prices for Edmunds on Kalshi.
This market will resolve according to Apple's public market capitalization at the close of regular trading on the final trading day of 2026. If the determined value falls exactly on the boundary between two brackets, this market will resolve to the higher bracket. Public market capitalization will be determined through appropriate calculation using the final official regular-hours closing prices published for the company's listed equities on its primary exchange for the last trading day of 2026, multiplied by the company's total number of shares outstanding at the relevant time. If necessary, to accurately capture the company’s total market capitalization, rather than a stock-class-specific market capitalization, the calculation will include all outstanding share classes and apply any stated conversion ratios to the publicly traded class. Where no conversion right exists, such shares will be counted at their stated outstanding amount without discount, unless official filings explicitly specify differently. The number of outstanding shares will be determined from official company filings or disclosures (e.g., SEC filings). If the listed company merges with or acquires another entity and remains the parent company, no change to resolution methodology applies. If the listed company is acquired, merges into another entity and is no longer the surviving parent company, or otherwise ceases to exist as an independent entity prior to the end of the period, the public market capitalizations achieved prior to completion of the transaction will be considered for resolution. No transaction, acquisition, or merger consideration will be considered for resolution. The resolution source for this market is official exchange trading data and publicly reported share counts.
The event resolves based on the average used car transaction price for December 2026, as reported by Edmunds. All markets share the same underlying data point: the first published monthly average for December 2026. Subsequent revisions to this figure do not affect the outcome. Each market has a specific threshold; if the reported average exceeds that threshold, the market resolves to Yes. The statistic reflects the average price over the entire month, not a single day’s value on December 31. This consistent methodology ensures clarity and fairness across all outcome categories.
Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Differences in user bases, liquidity, and listing design can cause Polymarket and Kalshi to price this market differently. Each platform attracts distinct trader demographics and may have varying levels of depth, which influences how odds evolve. For example, Polymarket currently favors Will Apple’s market capitalization be between $4.00T and $4.50T at the end of 2026? at 24.5%, while Kalshi leans toward Will Used Avg. Transaction Prices (ATPs) for December 2026 be above $25,000? at 92.0%, reflecting these platform-specific dynamics.
This market resolves around Feb 8, 2027, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final determination will rely on widely accepted financial data sources that report Apple’s official market capitalization at the close of 2026. Traders should monitor major financial news outlets and market data providers for the confirmed figures that settle this market.
Several signals could shift probabilities in this market over the next two years. Apple’s quarterly earnings reports, product announcements, stock buybacks, or major strategic moves like mergers and acquisitions will heavily influence trader sentiment. Broader macroeconomic factors — such as interest rate decisions, global economic growth, and tech-sector performance — also play a key role. Geopolitical tensions or regulatory changes affecting tech giants may produce rapid shifts in pricing as traders reassess risk.
