Description

This market will resolve to "Up" if the AMZN/USDT price at the end of the time range specified in the title is greater than the price at the beginning of that range. It will resolve to "Down" if the AMZN/USDT price at the end of the time range is lower than the price at the beginning of that range. If the two prices are exactly equal, the market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is Chainlink, specifically the AMZN/USDT data stream available at https://data.chain.link/streams/amzn-usdt-markpriceindex-datalink?timeframe=1d&chart=candlestick To verify the final price, use the close price of the 5m candlestick just before the market's end time. For example, for a market running from 1:00 to 1:15 PM ET, use the close price of the 1:10 PM candlestick as the final price. The resolution source uses the index price (field i) from Binance's USDS-Margined Futures Mark Price Stream for All Markets (!markPrice@arr), denominated in the quote currency. This market is based solely on the price reported by the Chainlink AMZN/USDT data stream, not on other sources or futures markets. If Chainlink data is unavailable or otherwise unusable for resolution, the market will resolve based on a consensus of reliable sources. 2026-10-22T18:15:00Z

While analysts rely on financial modeling and company reports, this market aggregates the wisdom of the crowd, incorporating a wider range of factors and potential events. The question of whether prediction markets outperform analyst forecasts is a subject of ongoing debate, but they can offer a valuable alternative perspective on the likely direction of the Amazon stock price during the specified window. It’s a distinct signal, not necessarily a direct comparison.

On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether the Amazon stock will close up or down within the specified timeframe. The price of these contracts fluctuates based on supply and demand, effectively creating a real-time probability assessment. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price reflects the collective judgment of all participants on Predict, and is influenced by news, trading volume, and overall market sentiment. The current price can be interpreted as the probability that the stock will be up at 2:30 PM ET on October 22nd.

This market resolves around Oct 22, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the closing price of Amazon stock between 2:15 PM and 2:30 PM ET on October 22nd will determine whether the 'up' or 'down' outcome is declared. If the stock price is higher at 2:30 PM ET than at 2:15 PM ET, the 'up' outcome will be verified; otherwise, the 'down' outcome will be verified. The resolution will be based on publicly available data from a trusted financial source.

Several signals or events could significantly move this market before it resolves. Unexpected news regarding Amazon’s earnings, a major product announcement, or shifts in broader economic indicators could all influence trader sentiment. Additionally, any significant news impacting the overall stock market, such as interest rate changes or geopolitical events, could also play a role. Even seemingly minor news events related to Amazon’s competitors or supply chain could cause fluctuations in the price of contracts within this market, as traders adjust their expectations for the stock’s performance.
