This group forecasts the winner of the 2026 Amazonas gubernatorial election in Brazil. The election is expected to take place in October 2026, potentially with a runoff in November if no candidate secures a majority in the first round. Resolution will be based on official results from the Brazilian Superior Electoral Court.
The Amazonas gubernatorial election is scheduled to take place in Brazil on October 4, 2026, with a runoff on October 25, 2026, if no candidate receives a majority of the valid votes in the first round. This market will resolve according to the candidate who wins this election. Temporary, interim, or placeholder governors appointed by any means before the specified election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known by June 30, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". This market will resolve based on the result of the election, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the Brazilian government, specifically the Superior Electoral Court (Tribunal Superior Eleitoral, TSE) (e.g., www.tse.jus.br/eleicoes/resultados-eleicoes).
Markets resolve to Yes if the named candidate is ultimately declared the winner of the 2026 Amazonas gubernatorial election. Resolution can happen prematurely when major media outlets agree on a winner, with definitive settlement otherwise occurring after authority-certified election results are published.
Prices on Polymarket and Kalshi can diverge due to several factors. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform has its own user base, trading fees, and liquidity, which can all influence price discovery. Differences in market design, such as contract specifications or trading limits, can also contribute to discrepancies. Furthermore, differing interpretations of available information or varying levels of risk aversion among traders on each platform can lead to price divergence in this market. These variations are normal and reflect the dynamic nature of prediction markets.
