Prediction markets and polls measure different things: polls capture voter intent at a single moment, while this market aggregates real-money bets from traders who profit only if their forecast proves correct. Market odds often diverge from polls because traders incorporate late-breaking news, turnout models, and campaign dynamics that surveys may lag. Over time, markets tend to converge toward actual outcomes because financial incentives reward accuracy. Comparing the current odds here to published polling can reveal where traders see opportunities or risks that traditional surveys have not yet reflected.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader activity into real-time odds for each candidate. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Shares are bought and sold continuously, and the price of each outcome adjusts based on supply and demand. Higher trading volume typically narrows the spread between bid and ask prices, making it easier to enter or exit positions. The platform displays odds as percentages, so a price of 0.65 means the market assigns a 65% probability to that outcome.
This market resolves around Nov 4, 2026, once the Dallas County Judge election has concluded and the winner is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome is determined by the official election result, confirmed through established news sources and public records. Until that date, odds will fluctuate based on new polling data, endorsements, campaign events, and voter turnout indicators. Early resolution is possible if a candidate withdraws or if the race outcome becomes mathematically certain before election day.
Major catalysts include candidate endorsements from prominent local or state figures, debate performances, and shifts in early voting or absentee ballot returns. Polling releases—especially from high-quality firms—often trigger sharp repricing as traders update their models. Campaign spending announcements, media coverage of scandals or policy positions, and turnout forecasts can all reshape odds. Demographic shifts in voter registration, changes in voter enthusiasm, and unexpected campaign developments will keep this market dynamic through election day.
