This event group tracks the stage at which the Netherlands is eliminated from the 2026 FIFA Men's World Cup, or whether they win the tournament. Both Kalshi and Polymarket offer markets covering all possible elimination stages (Group Stage through Final) plus a championship outcome.
This market will resolve according to the stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup at which Netherlands is eliminated. If Netherlands wins the tournament, this market will resolve to 'Champion'. If Netherlands is disqualified, withdraws, is removed from the tournament, or the tournament is partially completed and not finished for any reason, this market will resolve according to the furthest completed round reached by Netherlands based on the best available official information. If the 2026 FIFA World Cup is cancelled in full, postponed after August 2, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to 'Other'. The resolution source for this market will be official information from FIFA; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
Netherlands' stage of elimination is determined by the furthest point at which the team is knocked out of the 2026 Men's FIFA World Cup. If Netherlands fails to advance from the Group Stage, that market resolves to Yes. If Netherlands advances past the Group Stage but is eliminated in the Round of 32, the Round of 32 market resolves to Yes, and so forth through the Round of 16, Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and Final. A team that loses in the Semifinals resolves the Semifinals market to Yes regardless of third-place match results. If Netherlands withdraws, forfeits, or is disqualified at any point, their stage of elimination is determined by the farthest stage they reached prior to such action—for example, withdrawal after a Round of 32 victory means the Round of 16 market resolves to Yes. If Netherlands wins the Final, the Outright Winner market resolves to Yes.
Prediction market odds on Polymarket and Kalshi often diverge from traditional sportsbook lines because they reflect real-time trader positioning rather than fixed bookmaker margins. Sportsbooks adjust odds to balance liability; prediction markets respond directly to supply and demand. For Netherlands' World Cup elimination stage prospects, market odds may lead or lag sportsbook lines depending on which venue processes new information faster. Comparing both sources helps identify value and understand whether professional bettors or retail traders are driving current pricing.
Key catalysts include Netherlands' performance in World Cup qualifying and group stage matches, injury updates to star players, coaching changes, and head-to-head draws in the knockout bracket. Geopolitical or weather events affecting tournament logistics, shifts in betting syndicates' positioning, and real-time match results will all influence odds. Media narratives around Netherlands' form, tactical adjustments, and comparative strength assessments of potential opponents also drive trader sentiment and price movement on both Polymarket and Kalshi.
