Description

This event group determines which company owns the AI model ranked #1 on the Arena.ai Text Arena Math leaderboard at the end of August 2026. Both Kalshi and Polymarket are betting on the same underlying outcome: the identity of the top-performing math AI model according to a shared, real-time leaderboard.

PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi and Polymarket resolve on different calendar dates (July 31 vs August 31, 2026) and use incompatible entity taxonomies (model names vs company ownership). This creates two fundamentally different prediction targets despite sharing the same underlying leaderboard source.Hero tip: Do not treat Kalshi and Polymarket as redundant markets. Kalshi resolves one month earlier. Polymarket's tiebreaker rules (rank → score → alphabetical) are explicit and deterministic; Kalshi provides no tiebreaker guidance. Map each model name to its owning company before trading. If a model name in Kalshi cannot be reliably attributed to a Polymarket company, that Kalshi market carries unresolvable ambiguity risk.

Critical divergence points:

  • Kalshi: Binary outcome per model. Resolves July 31, 2026 at 10:00 AM ET. Covers 7 model names: Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Qwen, Kimi, Mimo, Minimax. No tiebreaker rules provided. Quote: 'If [Model] is the #1 model on Arena AI Text Arena Leaderboard (Math) on Jul 31, 2026 at 10:00AM ET, then the market resolves to Yes.'
  • Polymarket: Mutually exclusive outcomes per company (22 named + Other). Resolves August 31, 2026 at 12:00 PM ET. Explicit tiebreaker: rank → score (granular, unrounded) → alphabetical by company name. Fallback to 'Other' if leaderboard unavailable. Quote: 'Results from the Rank column under the Text Arena | Math Leaderboard tab at https://arena.ai/leaderboard/text/math-no-style-control with style control off (Adjustments: None) and filtered for Models will be used to resolve this market.'

Polymarket

This market will resolve according to the company that owns the model that has the highest arena rank based on the arena.ai Text Arena (Math) when the table under the "Leaderboard" tab is checked on August 31, 2026, 12:00 PM ET. Results from the "Rank" column under the "Text Arena | Math" Leaderboard tab at https://arena.ai/leaderboard/text/math-no-style-control with style control off (Adjustments: None) and filtered for "Models" will be used to resolve this market. Models will be ordered primarily by their leaderboard rank at the market’s check time. If two or more models are tied on rank, they will be ordered by their Arena score, including any underlying, unrounded, granular values reflected in the data below the leaderboard. If a tie still remains, alphabetical order of company names as listed in this market group will be used as a final tiebreaker (e.g., if the two models are tied by exact arena score, “Google” would be ranked ahead of “SpaceXAI”). This market will resolve based on the company that occupies first place under this ranking. The resolution source for this market is the arena.ai Text Arena (Math). If this resolution source is unavailable at check time, this market will remain open until the leaderboard comes back online and will resolve based on the first check after it becomes available. If it becomes permanently unavailable, this market will resolve to "Other".

Kalshi

Resolution is determined by identifying which model holds the #1 position on the Arena AI Text Arena Leaderboard (Math) on July 31, 2026 at 10:00 AM ET. If multiple models are tied for the top rank, the publisher's official tie-breaking methodology is applied; if no official methodology exists, all tied models share the highest rank. When multiple candidates tie for the #1 position, each tied outcome's contract resolves to $1 divided by the number of tied candidates, rounded down.

Frequently asked questions

The Text Arena Math AI model competition aggregates trader predictions across Polymarket and Kalshi to identify which company will lead in mathematical reasoning AI by end of August. This market reflects real-time consensus on the competitive landscape, with combined volume of $204,149 across both venues. Traders are pricing their conviction on which organization will demonstrate the strongest performance on Text Arena benchmarks, a standardized evaluation framework for math problem-solving capabilities. The dashboard consolidates these distributed bets into a single view of market expectations.

Prediction markets like this one often diverge from traditional analyst reports because traders face direct financial incentive to forecast accurately, whereas published research may lag real-world developments. Market prices reflect aggregated information from participants with skin in the game, updating continuously as new model releases or benchmark results emerge. Analyst consensus tends to be slower-moving and sometimes anchored to older data. For emerging AI competitions, prediction markets can serve as a leading indicator of which companies insiders and informed traders expect to dominate, often ahead of formal third-party evaluations.

This market resolves around Aug 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The winner will be determined by which company's model achieves the highest performance on Text Arena's standardized math benchmarks as of that date. Resolution hinges on official benchmark results and public announcements from the evaluation framework administrators. Traders should monitor Text Arena's official channels and participating companies' disclosures throughout August to track real-time performance metrics.

Major catalysts include new model releases or version updates from leading AI companies, public benchmark results, and announcements of Text Arena performance improvements. Earnings calls or investor presentations where companies discuss AI progress can shift trader sentiment. Academic papers or third-party evaluations comparing math reasoning capabilities may also trigger repricing. Regulatory announcements affecting AI development, partnership news, or talent acquisitions at competing firms could influence expectations. Real-time leaderboard updates on Text Arena itself will be the most direct price driver as resolution approaches.
