This prediction market asks forecasters to predict which movie will be ranked #1 on Netflix's global Top 10 list for movies, as reported on November 3, 2026. The ranking is based on total viewing hours and is sourced directly from Netflix's published charts.
Netflix is expected to update its global Top 10 movies list on top10.netflix.com on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, 3:00 PM ET, reflecting viewership from the previous week (Monday to Sunday). This market will resolve based on which movie this update ranks as the #1 global Netflix movie. If multiple movies tie for #1, this market will resolve according to the movie whose listed title comes first alphabetically. The ranking is based on total views globally, as reported by Netflix for Global Top 10 Movies (English only). If the top10.netflix.com update does not occur by November 6, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other".
Each market resolves based on whether a specific movie appears in the top position of Netflix's Global Top 10 Movies chart for the week ending the Sunday before November 3, 2026. All markets share identical secondary rules: Netflix updates its charts on Tuesdays, so trading will close at 11:59 PM ET on Monday, November 2, 2026. None of these markets imply any endorsement from Netflix, which is mentioned only for descriptive clarity. The resolution hinges solely on the objective ranking published by Netflix on the specified date.
Prediction market odds often offer a different perspective than traditional analyst forecasts. Analysts frequently rely on pre-release buzz, star power, and genre trends, while this market reflects the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to accurately predict actual viewership. This can lead to discrepancies, particularly when a dark horse candidate gains traction with audiences. The real-time nature of this market allows it to adapt quickly to new information, potentially outperforming static analyst predictions. It’s a valuable tool for understanding public sentiment and gauging the potential success of films.
Prices on Polymarket and Kalshi can diverge due to several factors. Each platform has its own user base, trading rules, and liquidity levels. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Different risk appetites and information access among traders on each platform also contribute to price discrepancies. Currently, Polymarket currently favors Will "Animals" be the top global Netflix movie this week? at 98.5%, while Kalshi leans toward Will Animals be Top Global Netflix Movie on Nov 2, 2026? at 96.0%. These differences highlight the value of aggregating data across multiple platforms to gain a more robust understanding of market sentiment.
This market resolves around Nov 4, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the top global Netflix movie for the week is verifiable from credible public reporting. The determination will be based on Netflix's official rankings, reflecting the total hours viewed for each movie during the specified period. The market’s outcome reflects the most-watched movie globally, as determined by Netflix’s internal data and publicly released figures. This ensures a transparent and objective resolution process for this market.
Several signals could significantly impact this market. A surprise marketing push from Netflix for a particular film, positive (or negative) critical reviews, and social media trends can all influence trader behavior. Unexpected events, such as a major celebrity appearance in a movie or a viral clip, could also shift the odds. Furthermore, the release of competing films on other streaming platforms or in theaters could affect viewership and, consequently, the outcome of this market. Monitoring these factors will be crucial for understanding potential price movements.
