Netflix is expected to update its global Top 10 movies list on top10.netflix.com on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, 3:00 PM ET, reflecting viewership from the previous week (Monday to Sunday). This market will resolve based on which movie this update ranks as the #2 global Netflix movie. Movies will be primarily ranked by chart ranking. If two or more movies are tied on chart ranking, ties will be broken by alphabetical order of the movies' listed titles. This market will resolve to the movie that occupies the second-highest finishing position after applying this ranking. The ranking is based on total views globally, as reported by Netflix for Global Top 10 Movies (English only). If the top10.netflix.com update does not occur by October 9, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other".

Currently, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than traditional analyst forecasts. While analysts may rely on pre-release hype or studio marketing, this market aggregates the wisdom of the crowd, factoring in real-time viewership data and user preferences. Discrepancies can arise from differing methodologies and the ability of the market to rapidly adjust to new information. It’s common to see this market outperform traditional predictions, especially as the week progresses and more data becomes available, offering a potentially more accurate view of the likely outcome.
On Polymarket, this market is priced using a continuous double auction, meaning traders buy and sell shares of each potential movie outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the probability of that movie being the #2 global Netflix movie this week, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares of a particular movie, its price increases, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust expectations, creating a forward-looking assessment of the most likely outcome.
This market resolves around Oct 6, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the #2 global Netflix movie for the week is verifiable from credible public reporting. The determination will be based on official viewership data released by Netflix or a widely recognized third-party data provider tracking global streaming statistics. The market will then settle to reflect the movie that held the #2 position for the majority of the week, as determined by this publicly available data. The resolution process is designed to be transparent and objective.
Several signals could significantly move this market. Unexpected critical acclaim or negative reviews for a newly released film could rapidly shift trader sentiment. Major marketing pushes or social media trends surrounding a particular movie could also influence the odds. Furthermore, the release schedule of new content on Netflix plays a role, as a highly anticipated premiere could quickly displace existing contenders. Any significant changes in viewership data released during the week will undoubtedly impact this market, leading to price adjustments as traders react to the latest information.
