Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own models and aim to balance their risk, while this market relies on individuals freely trading based on their own analysis. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before significant events or when new information emerges. These differences can be due to varying levels of information, differing interpretations of data, or simply the dynamics of supply and demand within the prediction market.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price reflects the aggregate sentiment of all participants, creating a dynamic and real-time assessment of the event’s potential results.
This market resolves around Sep 29, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Maanshan tennis match between Shiyu Ye and Ru Xi Wu, as reported by a recognized tennis authority. The platform will verify the result against these sources to determine the winning outcome and distribute payouts accordingly. It’s important to note that the exact timing of resolution may depend on the speed of official result publication.
