Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbook odds are typically set by a small number of experts, while this market aggregates opinions from many participants. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or risk assessments. It’s common to see prediction markets move independently of sportsbook lines, especially as new information becomes available or as the event draws closer. Examining both can provide a more comprehensive view of the likely outcome.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction, meaning traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome – Tulane winning the 2nd half or Kansas St. winning the 2nd half. The price of each contract reflects the market’s probability assessment of that outcome occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information emerges, the prices adjust to reflect the evolving consensus. The goal is for the market price to converge towards the true probability of each outcome as the event approaches.
This market resolves around Sep 19, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The winner of the second half of the Tulane vs Kansas St. football game will determine the winning contract. The official result, as reported by official game statistics, will be used to settle this market. Traders holding the winning contract will receive a payout based on the final market price at resolution.
