Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by traders seeking to profit from accurate forecasts. This market aggregates the collective judgment of many independent participants, which can sometimes identify value that traditional sportsbooks miss. Comparing the two can reveal where consensus differs, though each has distinct advantages depending on your analytical approach and risk tolerance.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each possible outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price of each outcome reflects the ratio of shares held in the liquidity pool, meaning larger trades move the price more dramatically. As traders place orders, the price adjusts continuously to balance supply and demand. This mechanism ensures transparent, real-time pricing and allows participants to enter or exit positions at any time before the market resolves.

This market resolves around Jul 26, 2026, once the second half of the match is complete and the result can be verified. The outcome is determined by the official final score of the second half, confirmed through credible public reporting of the match. Traders should monitor the fixture schedule and any official announcements to ensure they understand the exact timing. Once the event concludes and the result is publicly confirmed, the market will settle automatically based on which outcome occurred.

Several factors can shift prices in this market before it resolves. Team news such as injuries, lineup changes, or tactical adjustments announced before kickoff can significantly impact trader expectations. First-half performance is a major catalyst—if one side dominates early, second-half odds will adjust to reflect momentum and fatigue patterns. Weather conditions, referee assignments, and recent form updates may also influence positioning. Additionally, any official delays or fixture rescheduling could extend the market's duration, giving traders more time to reassess and adjust their positions.
