Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on expert analysis and incorporate a margin for profit, while this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs about the outcome. If a significant discrepancy exists, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by simultaneously betting on both platforms. However, it’s important to note that prediction market odds are dynamic and can change rapidly based on new information and trading activity.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of a particular outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment of the market. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds are constantly updated based on the latest information and sentiment.

Several factors could influence trading activity in this market before resolution. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in playing conditions, or updated match analyses from tennis experts could shift the odds. Unexpected results in earlier rounds of the tournament, affecting the players’ momentum or confidence, might also impact trading. Furthermore, large trades from influential market participants could create short-term price movements, and general shifts in public perception of the teams’ chances could also move this market.
