This market tracks which team will score more points in the final quarter of a college football matchup between Rutgers and Boston College. It focuses solely on the performance during the last 15 minutes of regulation time, ignoring any overtime periods. The outcome depends purely on the points each team accumulates in that specific segment of the game.
The market resolves based on which team scores more points in the fourth quarter of the Rutgers versus Boston College college football game scheduled for September 11, 2026, excluding any overtime periods. If Boston College scores more points in the fourth quarter, the 'Boston College wins 4th Quarter' market resolves to Yes. If Rutgers scores more points in the fourth quarter, the 'Rutgers wins 4th Quarter' market resolves to Yes. If both teams score an equal number of points in the fourth quarter, the 'Tie 4th Quarter' market resolves to Yes. Should the game be postponed but commence within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, all markets remain open and resolve according to the official fourth-quarter result. If the game fails to start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Points scored outside the fourth quarter or in overtime do not affect any market outcomes.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to dynamically adjust probabilities based on new information and their own analysis. If sportsbook odds suggest a clear favorite, but volume in this market is distributed more evenly, it could indicate disagreement with the sportsbook’s assessment. It’s common to see prediction markets move more efficiently than sportsbook odds in response to breaking news or late-developing information.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing the probability of each outcome. The price of a contract reflects the market’s collective assessment of that outcome’s likelihood. As more traders buy contracts for a particular team, the price increases, indicating a higher perceived probability of victory. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market depth and trading activity provide insights into the level of conviction behind each prediction. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust probabilities accordingly.
This market resolves around Sep 12, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will resolve based on which team is leading when the 4th quarter concludes. The official game results, as reported by a recognized sports data provider, will be used to determine the winning team. Traders will be able to see the final result and any relevant supporting information on Kalshi following the game's completion.
Several factors could influence the odds in this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either team would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they favor one team’s playing style, could also impact the market. Unexpected coaching decisions or shifts in team strategy revealed before or during the game could also lead to price adjustments. Finally, even public sentiment and large bets placed by influential traders on Kalshi can contribute to shifts in the probabilities reflected in this market.
