This market will resolve according to how much "Resident Evil" Weekend Box Office will gross domestically on its fourth weekend. The "Daily Box Office Performance" figures found on the "Box Office" tab on this movie's The Numbers (https://www.the-numbers.com/) page will be used to resolve this market once the values for the 3-day weekend (October 9 - 11) are final (i.e., not studio estimates). If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket. Please note, this market will resolve according to the The Numbers figures provided under Weekend Box Office Performance for the 3-day weekend (which typically includes Thursday's previews), regardless of whether domestic refers to only the USA, or to USA and Canada, etc. If there is ambiguity as to whether the resolution source's figures are final, this market will remain open until both https://www.boxofficemojo.com/ and https://www.the-numbers.com/ have confirmed their finalized figures. If there is no final data available by October 16, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, another credible resolution source will be chosen.

On Polymarket, this market is priced using a continuous double auction, meaning traders buy and sell shares representing their belief about the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment of the Resident Evil box office performance. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is driven by supply and demand; if many traders believe the box office will be low, they’ll buy shares representing that outcome, driving up its price and implied probability.
This market resolves around Oct 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the official 4th weekend box office numbers for Resident Evil are verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the reported domestic box office gross for the film’s fourth weekend in theaters. Traders will be able to see the final result and whether their predictions were accurate once the official figures are released. The market will then settle, and winning traders will receive their payouts based on the final outcome.
Several factors could influence this market before it resolves. Any significant news regarding the film’s reception, such as critical reviews or audience reactions, could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected competition from newly released films could also impact the Resident Evil box office. Furthermore, any major marketing pushes or promotional events could influence attendance. Positive word-of-mouth or viral social media trends could also drive increased ticket sales, while negative publicity could have the opposite effect. These signals will be reflected in the trading volume and price movements of this market.
